Base64 Decode | Base64 Decoder
Base64 Decode is an online tool to decode Base64 encoding to String or Binary form. It is very simple & easy tool to use which decodes data in text/human-readable format. Base64 Decode tool has quite user friendly appearance for both desktop and mobile view. If you are looking for the reverse process(Base64 encoding) check Base64 Encode.
Why we use Base64 Encoding/Decoding?
Base64 encoding schemes are commonly used when there is a need to encode binary data that needs be stored and transferred over media that are designed to deal with textual data. This is to ensure that the data remains intact without modification during transport. Base64 is used commonly in a number of applications including email via MIME, and storing complex data in XML/JSON.
What is Base64 Encoding?
The term Base64 came from a certain MIME content transfer encoding. Basically, Base64 is a collection of related encoding designs which represent the binary information in ASCII format by converting it into a base64 representation.
How to use Base64 Decode Tool?
1. Open Base64 Decode Tool.
2. Paste Base64 String in input text area.
3. Click Decoder button to decode Base64 String to original/Text data.
4. You can copy output data or click on Copy to ClipBoard button to copy the output data.
How Base64 encoding/decoding works?
Base64 encoding breaks binary data into 6-bit segments of 3 full bytes and represents those as printable characters in ASCII standard.
It does that in essentially two steps:
The first step is to break the binary string down into 6-bit blocks. Base64 only uses 6 bits (corresponding to 2^6 = 64 characters) to ensure encoded data is printable and humanly readable. None of the special characters available in ASCII are used. The 64 characters (hence the name Base64) are 10 digits, 26 lowercase characters, 26 uppercase characters as well as the Plus sign (+) and the Forward Slash (/). There is also a 65th character known as a pad, which is the Equal sign (=). This character is used when the last segment of binary data doesn't contain a full 6 bits.

Is this tool free?
Yes, it is 100% free tool to use.
Is Base64 Encode/Decode secure enough and can i used to encrypt or obfuscate my data?
No, Base64 is not for encryption purposes and is not secure at all. It is just an encoding mechanism, nothing else.
